Keurhout-Sustainable products
A distinction is made between sustainable quality marks of level 1 (100% sustainable timber) or level 2 (at least 70 % sustainable timber in the case of compound products; the rest must consist of demonstrably legal timber of Recycled Wood).
If it meets the criteria, a product that is sold to an end-user must be given a Keurhout-Sustainable Quality Mark. Criteria for logo use and Keurhout Statements by Keurhout participants are part of the participants agreement.
Keurhout admitted exporters in countries of origin, with an explicit approval for Keurhout logo use, may also apply Keurhout logo’s on products sold to Keurhout participants in the EU. Whether the end product is level 1 or level 2 is to be marked on the Quality Mark, which is registered with the Benelux Trademarks Register, by means of filling in an open circle. Keurhout admitted logo users in the countries of origin also need to indicate the KH participant's number on the logo.
Keurhout-Legal products
The Quality Mark for Keurhout-Legal products is only issued for products for which it is established that they can be demonstrated to be of legal origin. A distinction is made between legal quality mark of level 1 (100% Keurhout-Legal) or level 2 (at least 70 % Keurhout-Legal; the rest must consist of Recycled Wood). If it meets the criteria, a product that is sold to an end-user may be given a Keurhout-Legal Quality Mark. The following Keurhout-Legal logo may be placed on the product. This logo is distinguished from the Keurhout-Sustainable logo by its colour: the name Keurhout is yellow instead of green.

Placement of labels
On-product labels can be placed on a place stipulated by the Keurhout participant; however, it must be placed where it is clearly visible, have at least the minimum sizes and must have, at least, the same size as other labels on the product.
In principle, Keurhout participants need only place a label on a finished product, sold to an end-user. Deviation here from requires specific consent from NTTA.

Off-product label use
Off-product use of logos and phrases is permitted to Keurhout participants without need for an additional specific request, provided that a number of basic requirement is complied with. (e.g. the membership must be valid, so CoC control and annual contribution payments shall be up-to date).

Control on label use
The use of labels is monitored by the CBs and NTTA. Inappropriate use is subject to sanctions; the responsibility for this lies with in first instance with the CB’s and eventually with NTTA.
