Although Keurhout was initially founded for the Dutch market, the formula has turned out to be attractive enough for markets in other European countries. The Keurhout approach has the potential to grow internationally. Because the EU is one market with open borders, it is necessary for all participating companies within the EU to apply the same stringent monitoring of the CoC. On the request of a number of companies in other European countries, in cooperation with European sister organisations of the NTTA and independent certifying bodies, Keurhout is on the road to profiling itself in various European countries.
As of January 2006 it is possible that companies in other European countries become a participant of Keurhout. In order to facilitate this internationalisation of Keurhout, where necessary KH documents are adjusted and the website is also available in English. Various companies and certification institutions in the EU have in the meantime made a contract with NTTA.
